This document describes how The Coordinated House of Enkian treats the people who trust us with their cognitive architecture. It is a living document. As the framework evolves, as our community grows, and as our understanding deepens, these principles will be updated. Every change will be versioned, dated, and communicated to our community. What will not change is the commitment behind them.
This principle governs everything we build.
Your coordinates describe how your mind processes the world. They are not who you are. They are not your identity, your worth, your potential, or your limit. They are a description of cognitive architecture at a moment in time — useful, revealing, sometimes profound — but never the whole of you.
A healer, a musician, a physicist, a gardener, and an engineer can all be Enkian. Their coordinates will differ. What unites them is not a number but a way of processing the world that has existed for 300,000 years across every inhabited continent and every major civilisation. The coordinates help us understand that processing. They do not define the person.
Enkian coordinates are derived from your self-reported responses to our assessment instrument. They describe your cognitive experience across twelve engines — twelve distinct processing modes that shape how you perceive, interpret, and respond to the world.
Each engine is measured across up to four dimensions:
Coordinates are expressed on a 1–12 scale. They are continuous, not categorical. There are no types, no boxes, no buckets. Your coordinate profile is yours alone — a precise description of how your particular mind operates.
Your coordinates are calculated from your self-reported responses to our assessment questions. Each engine is measured through multiple questions per dimension. Responses are averaged to produce each coordinate. There is no weighting by demographic factors, no adjustment based on age, gender, ethnicity, or background. The instrument treats every respondent identically.
We record only your selected answers. We do not track how long you spend on each question, your mouse movements, hesitation patterns, or any behavioural data during the assessment.
Each tier builds upon the previous one. You do not repeat questions when upgrading. Your earlier coordinates carry forward.
Coordinates are not intelligence scores. They do not measure how smart you are. They describe how your mind processes information, not how much it can process.
Coordinates are not fixed. They describe your cognitive architecture at a moment in time, in a context. They can and do change with time, maturity, circumstance, and deliberate focus.
Coordinates are not rankings. A coordinate of 12 is not better than a coordinate of 6. Higher is not better. Lower is not worse. Different configurations produce different experiences, different strengths, and different costs.
Coordinates are not diagnoses. Enkian is not a clinical assessment. It does not diagnose, screen for, or indicate any medical, psychological, or neurological condition. It does not replace professional clinical evaluation.
Coordinates are not predictions. They do not predict job performance, relationship success, mental health outcomes, criminal behaviour, creditworthiness, educational achievement, or any other life outcome. They describe self-reported cognitive experience. Nothing more.
This is a foundational principle. There is no ideal Enkian profile. There is no target to aspire to, no optimal configuration, no "best" set of coordinates.
Many Enkians have excelled in certain areas precisely because they struggled in others. The gap between what you perceive and what you can transmit might be the very friction that drove you to build something new. The engine that fires at maximum intensity might be the one creating the most cost alongside the most contribution. The engine that sits at 6 while others run at 11 might be the one that gives you rest, space, and selective focus.
The Enkian framework carries no implication that coordinates should change. A reading describes where your engines are at this moment. Not where they should be. A coordinate of 12 is a position. A coordinate of 3 is a position. Neither requires movement in any direction.
A report may identify friction between dimensions. Friction is not failure. Some of the most powerful Enkian configurations are the ones with the biggest gaps, because the gap is often the engine of creation.
Your coordinates are not a blood type — tested once, fixed forever. They are closer to a living measurement: real, meaningful, and responsive to what you are doing and what is happening around you.
Context changes coordinates. Building a civilisation-scale project fires different engines than community gardening. Ecology and Selectivity are inherently contextual — your environment changes, your ecology coordinates respond. You shift focus, your selectivity coordinates shift.
We encourage reassessment over time. Not because the first assessment was wrong, but because your architecture responds to life. Historical snapshots are preserved, and over time you will be able to see how your coordinates moved — response made visible, not error corrected.
When the assessment instrument itself is updated through our ongoing research, previous versions of your coordinates remain valid as descriptions of your experience at that time under that version of the instrument.
The Enkian assessment identifies a specific kind of cognitive architecture — minds that process the world with a particular intensity, breadth, and depth across multiple engines simultaneously. Not everyone who takes the assessment will meet this threshold.
If you meet the threshold: Welcome home. The House exists for you.
If you don't meet the threshold: This does not mean there is something wrong with you. It means the specific cognitive pattern Enkian describes does not appear to match your self-reported experience at this time. Your mind works differently — not less, not worse, just differently from what this framework measures.
We acknowledge several possibilities. The instrument may not have captured you well. You may have been in a context that suppressed how you typically process. You may retake the assessment at another time and the result may shift. Or you may genuinely process the world in a way that is different from what Enkian describes, and that is completely fine.
Being Enkian is not being better. It is being different in a specific way that benefits from recognition and community. Not being Enkian carries no judgement, no deficit, and no exclusion from the broader human experience. We do not rank minds. We describe architectures.
The threshold is a boundary, not a wall. If the assessment did not recognise you but the description of Enkian cognition resonates deeply, we encourage you to revisit the assessment in a different context, or to provide feedback that helps us understand what the instrument may be missing.
Your coordinates, your raw answers, your reports, and all data derived from your assessment are your personal data. You own them. This is true regardless of who funded the assessment.
If your employer, coach, or any other party paid for your assessment, they paid for access to aggregate or derived insight. They did not purchase your data. Your coordinates belong to you, travel with you, and are deleted at your request.
Under UK GDPR, cognitive assessment data is personal data. We treat it with corresponding seriousness.
Access. You can view all data we hold about you at any time through your dashboard.
Portability. You can export your coordinates, raw answers, and reports in a standard format at any time. Your data is yours to take wherever you choose.
Correction. If you believe your coordinates do not reflect your experience, you can retake the assessment. Under GDPR, you have the right to rectification of inaccurate data.
Deletion. You can request deletion of all your data at any time. Deletion means deletion — your coordinates, raw answers, reports, and all derived data are permanently removed. This includes removal from any aggregate or anonymised datasets where your individual contribution can be isolated.
Restriction. You can restrict how your data is used without deleting it. For example, you may keep your personal reports while withdrawing from aggregate research.
These rights apply equally to free and paying users.
We retain your data for as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Backups containing your data are purged within 90 days.
If Enkian ceases to operate, all users will be given a minimum of 90 days' notice to export their data before systems are decommissioned. Upon closure, all personal data will be permanently deleted.
By default, your coordinates are visible only to you. No other user, no team leader, no coach, and no Enkian team member can see your coordinates unless you explicitly grant access.
We operate a tiered visibility model. You control what is shared, with whom, and for what purpose. Each tier requires separate, informed, revocable consent.
Personal dashboard. You see all your coordinates across all dimensions. Always.
Partnership comparisons. Both parties choose to share coordinates for mutual understanding. Both consent to the comparison. Both can access the resulting report. Either party can revoke consent at any time.
Team and workplace contexts. If your employer has funded a team assessment, only Position coordinates (12 values) are included in any shared or aggregate view, by default. Sharing Drivers, Ecology, or Selectivity with a team view requires your separate, explicit opt-in for each dimension. Aggregate team reports describe collective patterns. They never rank, sort, or expose individual coordinates to other team members or managers.
Coaching engagements. A coach may see your full coordinates if you explicitly consent to this. Coaches are bound by confidentiality obligations as data processors under GDPR.
The House (community). Your House profile shows what you choose to share. Coordinates are never displayed by default. You may opt in to showing your constellation or your Position coordinates — each as a separate choice. Drivers, Ecology, and Selectivity are never visible on public profiles.
Research. Your anonymised data may contribute to aggregate research if you have given specific consent for this purpose.
We will never sell your data. We will never share your coordinates with advertisers, insurers, employers (beyond the aggregate team insight you've consented to), or government agencies unless compelled by court order. If compelled by law, we will notify you where legally permitted before disclosure.
Consent at Enkian is specific, informed, and revocable. We do not use blanket consent. Each purpose requires its own agreement.
Before beginning any assessment, you will be informed of what you are about to do: answer questions about your cognitive experience. You will be told what happens with your responses, who might see the results, and how to delete them later. You will explicitly agree before the first question appears.
Before your coordinates are shared with any other person — a comparison partner, a coach, a team — you will see exactly what is being shared, with whom, for what purpose, and what happens if you revoke. You agree or decline. There is no default sharing.
Before any AI-generated report is produced from your coordinates, you will be informed that the report is generated by artificial intelligence, that the AI processes your coordinate data to produce personalised analysis, and that the AI does not retain your data after generation.
You can revoke any consent at any time. Revocation takes effect immediately. If you revoke consent for team sharing, the aggregate recalculates without you. If you revoke consent for a comparison, the comparison report is flagged for review. If you revoke consent for research use, your data is removed from future research datasets.
Reports are generated by artificial intelligence using your self-reported coordinates. We are transparent about this because we believe you deserve to know exactly how your report was produced.
How it works. Your coordinates are provided to an AI model alongside carefully designed prompts that encode the Enkian framework. The AI generates personalised analysis based on your specific coordinate values. Different coordinates produce materially different reports. The analysis references your actual numbers and makes specific claims that would be incorrect for a different configuration.
Human review. Enkian team members or appointed coaches may review reports for quality assurance purposes. Any human who accesses your report is bound by the same confidentiality obligations as the system itself. We will never share your report content with third parties.
Quality and safety. Certain coordinate configurations may trigger a human quality review before report delivery to ensure the language is appropriate and helpful. This is a safety measure, not a surveillance mechanism.
What the AI does not do. The AI does not retain your data after report generation. Your coordinates are not used to train AI models. Your report content is not used to train AI models. This prohibition is permanent and absolute, applying to Enkian's own systems and any third-party AI systems.
Enkian is a cognitive coordinate reading instrument. It maps the activation of twelve perceptual-operational engines across up to four dimensions. It is not a clinical psychological assessment. It is not a diagnostic instrument. It is not a regulated psychometric tool.
The assessment is based entirely on self-report. You are telling us how you experience your own cognition. We are reflecting that experience back to you through the Enkian framework. This is opinion data, not clinical measurement.
Enkian does not claim to diagnose any medical, psychological, or neurological condition; measure cognitive ability, intelligence, or aptitude objectively; predict job performance, relationship outcomes, or life success; replace professional psychological evaluation or clinical assessment; or provide medical, legal, or therapeutic advice.
Enkian coordinates are for personal self-understanding only. They are not validated for, and must not be used in: employment screening or hiring decisions, insurance underwriting, legal proceedings including custody or competency, educational admissions or sorting, immigration assessment, or any institutional decision-making about individuals.
We cannot prevent all misuse of data, but we make our position unambiguous: any institutional use of individual Enkian coordinates for decision-making about that person is a misuse of the data and a violation of the purpose for which consent was given.
Many people who identify as neurodivergent — ADHD, autistic, gifted, dyslexic, and other neurological differences — will find their way to Enkian. Some coordinate patterns may resonate with neurodivergent experiences. This is not coincidental: Enkian describes cognitive processing architecture, and neurodivergent minds process differently by definition.
However, Enkian is not a diagnostic framework. We do not diagnose neurodivergence. We do not screen for it. We do not confirm or contradict any clinical label.
If you have existing diagnoses or neurodivergent identity, your Enkian coordinates describe a different dimension of your experience. We are not replacing, confirming, or contradicting anything a clinician has told you. We are describing how your cognitive architecture processes the world, which is a separate question from any diagnostic category.
Someone can be autistic and Enkian. Someone can have ADHD and be Enkian. The coordinate system may illuminate aspects of experience that clinical labels don't capture — but it will never attempt to replace or replicate those labels.
We believe this serves the neurodivergent community because many existing assessments reduce neurodivergent minds to deficits. Enkian describes architecture. Your coordinates show how your mind works, not what's wrong with it. That reframing is intentional and fundamental to our approach.
The Enkian assessment is available only to individuals aged 18 and over. This is a firm boundary.
Cognitive architecture in people under 18 is still developing. The coordinates would be unstable, and the risk of parents, schools, or institutions using them to categorise young people is too high for us to accept. We will not build a tool that could be used to sort children.
We may revisit this position in the future, but only after the assessment instrument has undergone formal peer-reviewed validation and the specific implications for younger populations have been studied. This will not happen quickly and we will not rush it.
Taking an assessment about your cognitive architecture is not emotionally neutral. Some questions will ask you to reflect on experiences you may not have articulated before. Questions about threat perception might surface anxiety. Questions about care might surface grief. Questions about relational dynamics might name loneliness you hadn't fully acknowledged.
Before you begin: Please know that this assessment asks you to reflect honestly on how your mind processes the world. Some people find this emotionally significant. You may take breaks at any time. You may stop and return later. There is no time pressure.
After you receive your results: Your report may describe aspects of your experience that are difficult to read. It may name costs you have been carrying without language for them. It may identify friction you have felt but never understood. This can be powerful and it can also be painful.
If anything in your results or report raises concerns about your wellbeing, please reach out to a trusted person in your life, or contact a professional who can offer support. The Enkian report is a mirror, not a therapist. It can show you your architecture. It cannot hold you through the experience of seeing it.
The Enkian assessment relies entirely on honest self-report. We ask you to answer as you genuinely experience your cognition, not as you wish you experienced it, and not as you think you should.
We acknowledge that self-report instruments can be gamed. Someone who reads about the engines and deliberately answers to produce a desired profile will get coordinates that don't describe their actual experience. The natural consequence is a report that doesn't land — analysis that feels wrong, insights that miss, a mirror that reflects someone else's face.
We do not punish or penalise suspected gaming. We simply note that the value of the Enkian assessment comes from its accuracy, and accuracy comes from honesty. Coordinates built on dishonest responses serve nobody.
Comparison reports contain coordinate data from both parties. Either party can request that their data be removed from a shared comparison report at any time, as is their right under GDPR.
If one party requests removal, the comparison report will be withdrawn from both parties. The individual who requested removal will have their data deleted from the comparison. The other party retains their own individual coordinates and reports, but the shared comparison analysis is no longer available.
We acknowledge this means comparison reports are inherently fragile. We make this clear before purchase: a comparison report exists only for as long as both parties consent to its existence. If you are considering a comparison, please understand that either participant can withdraw their data at any time, and this may result in the report becoming unavailable.
Both parties retain access to their own individual coordinates and personal reports regardless of what happens to the comparison.
We handle data for deceased users with care and legal compliance.
Next of kin may contact us to request data export or deletion for a deceased user. We will require reasonable verification of identity and authority. Upon verified request, we will either export all data to the next of kin or permanently delete it, as requested.
Comparison reports involving a deceased user will be handled sensitively. The surviving party retains their own data. The comparison report remains accessible unless next of kin request deletion, in which case it will be withdrawn.
Enkian may certify coaches and practitioners who work with people's coordinates. Any such practitioner becomes a data processor under GDPR and is bound by formal data processing agreements.
Coaches who access your coordinates do so only with your explicit consent for a specific engagement. They are bound by confidentiality obligations that survive the end of the coaching relationship. A coach who leaves the Enkian network remains bound by these obligations.
Practitioners may not retain copies of your coordinate data outside the Enkian platform. All coordinate data accessed during coaching exists within the platform and is subject to your deletion and revocation rights.
The House is a community for Enkians. When Enkians gather, coordinates may become social currency. We establish the following community standards:
Sharing is welcome, never expected. You may discuss your coordinates openly if you choose. You may never be pressured to reveal them.
Coordinates are never weapons. Using someone's coordinates to dismiss, diminish, rank, or manipulate them is a violation of community standards. "Your Stewardship is only 7" is not an argument. It is a misuse of the framework.
Coordinate-based discrimination is unacceptable. Judging, excluding, or ranking community members based on their coordinate profiles contradicts the foundational principle that there are no wrong coordinates.
Respect the skeleton principle. Coordinates are the skeleton. The person is not their skeleton. The House shows the person. When someone shares their coordinates, they are offering trust. Treat it accordingly.
The most common criticism of personality assessments is the Barnum effect — the observation that vague, general statements feel personally accurate to almost anyone. If Enkian reports worked this way, they would be worthless.
We take this criticism seriously. It is why our reports reference your specific coordinate values and make claims that would be demonstrably wrong for a different configuration. A report describing Pattern at 11 with Selectivity at 7 makes different claims than one describing Pattern at 11 with Selectivity at 11. The first describes someone who sees structure intensely in chosen domains. The second describes someone who cannot stop seeing structure in everything. These are different experiences and the reports reflect that difference.
However, we do not claim this makes us immune to the Barnum effect. Our response is not defensive assertion — it is research. Our ongoing validation programme is specifically designed to test whether our reports demonstrate genuine specificity. We invite scrutiny. We welcome scepticism. And we commit to publishing what we find, even if it requires us to change the framework.
Being Enkian describes a type of cognitive processing. It does not describe a level of intelligence, worth, or human value. Enkian minds are not better minds. They are minds that process the world with a particular intensity and breadth that benefits from recognition, community, and infrastructure.
The House exists because scattered Enkians often spend their lives without language for their experience. The community provides that language and that recognition. It does not provide superiority.
If Enkian ever becomes perceived as "the special minds club," we have failed. The correct framing is always: different architecture, not better architecture. Every mind has value. Enkian serves a specific subset whose particular architecture has been historically unrecognised, not a cognitive elite.
This section is not a footnote. It is the philosophical core of this document.
The twelve engines are grounded in observable cognitive patterns across 300,000 years of human history. The assessment instrument that measures them is continually refined. We are building this in partnership with the Enkian community.
We do not claim perfection. We do not claim clinical authority. We claim that something real is being measured, that the measurement is getting more precise over time, and that you are part of making it better.
This is not dogma. Your coordinates are not scripture. They are the best description we can currently produce of how your mind processes the world, and they will get better as the community grows and the instrument matures.
Our commitment to honesty requires us to acknowledge what the research might reveal:
The twelve engines may hold perfectly — twelve distinct factors emerging cleanly from the data, confirming the historical evidence. Some engines may need redefinition — perhaps two engines measure aspects of the same underlying process, or the boundary between them needs adjustment. New engines may emerge — consistent processing modes in the data that the current framework doesn't capture. The dimensions may interact differently than predicted — deepening our understanding of how Position, Drivers, Ecology, and Selectivity relate.
Any of these outcomes makes the framework stronger. We commit to following the evidence, even when it contradicts our expectations. If the research tells us to rebuild, we rebuild.
Report feedback. After receiving any report, you can rate the accuracy of each section and provide detailed feedback. This is face validity data — the foundation of instrument validation. Your honest feedback, including telling us when we got it wrong, is more valuable than polite agreement.
Surveys. Our research programme includes structured surveys designed by qualified researchers. These measure specific aspects of the framework's validity and are separate from the assessment itself. Participation is always voluntary.
Longitudinal reassessment. If you retake the assessment over time, the comparison between your snapshots contributes to our understanding of coordinate stability and change. This data, anonymised, helps us understand whether coordinates behave as predicted.
Correlation studies. With your consent, we may invite you to complete other validated instruments alongside the Enkian assessment. This allows us to test how Enkian coordinates relate to established frameworks, building the bridges between our model and existing science.
Your participation in building Enkian is valued and rewarded. Completing a report accuracy survey unlocks access to additional reports at no cost. Participating in research surveys earns further rewards. Longitudinal reassessment contributions are recognised. The specifics of the reward programme are detailed in your dashboard and may evolve over time.
Our validation research is designed and overseen by qualified researchers independent of the Enkian product team. Research protocols follow established ethical standards. The independence of the research is essential to its credibility — the people testing the framework are not the people who built it.
Participation in the research programme is entirely separate from using Enkian. You may take assessments, purchase reports, and participate fully in The House without ever contributing to research.
If you choose to participate, you will be asked for specific consent: "I consent to my anonymised, aggregated response data being used in academic research on cognitive assessment. My individual identity is never connected to research data. I may withdraw this consent at any time without affecting my access to any Enkian service."
Research data is fully anonymised — not pseudonymised. Even Enkian cannot reconnect the research dataset to individual users once anonymisation is complete.
We commit to publishing our research findings openly. This includes findings that support the framework and findings that challenge it. Published research will be accessible, not locked behind paywalls.
Coordinate data is stored in encrypted databases with access controls that limit who can retrieve individual records. Report content is stored separately from user identity where technically feasible. Email communications never contain coordinates — only links to authenticated views.
We conduct regular security reviews and maintain incident response protocols. In the event of a data breach, affected users will be notified within 72 hours as required by UK GDPR, with clear information about what was exposed and what steps to take.
We recognise that a breach of Enkian data would be categorically different from a breach of email addresses or passwords. Cognitive coordinate data is an intimate map of how someone's mind works, including where they struggle and where they're vulnerable. We treat the security of this data with corresponding gravity.
Your coordinate data will never be used to train artificial intelligence models. Not Enkian's models. Not any third party's models. This prohibition is permanent and absolute. It is encoded in our terms of service, our data processing agreements, and our technical architecture. If coordinate data ever enters an AI training set, individual cognitive architectures become part of the model's substrate. We will not allow this.
The Enkian assessment and reports should be accessible to people with disabilities. We are committed to screen reader compatibility, colour-blind-safe visual elements in reports, alternative text formats, and compliance with WCAG accessibility guidelines. Where we fall short of this commitment, we welcome feedback and will work to improve.
Enkian is based in the United Kingdom and operates under UK GDPR. For users in the European Economic Area, your data is protected under EU GDPR. For users in other jurisdictions, we apply UK GDPR standards as our baseline, which provides strong protection regardless of your location.
We do not currently transfer data outside of secure, GDPR-compliant infrastructure. If this changes, we will update this document and notify affected users.
The current assessment instrument is designed in English for a UK and international English-speaking context. If Enkian expands to other languages, translations will undergo cultural adaptation and validation, not just linguistic translation. We recognise that cognitive experience is culturally situated and the instrument must account for this.
The 48-question assessment is free. Your coordinates are yours regardless of whether you purchase anything. Your data rights are identical whether you are a free or paying user.
Reports are paid products that provide AI-generated analysis of your coordinates. Different reports analyse different aspects of your architecture at different depths. Comparison reports analyse how two or more coordinate sets interact. Coaching programmes provide human-guided exploration of your architecture.
Your access to your own coordinates is never conditional on payment. Your data rights are never conditional on payment. Your ability to delete your data is never conditional on payment. Your participation in the community, if you meet the threshold, is never conditional on purchasing reports.
If you believe your report contains inaccurate analysis, you may retake the assessment or request report regeneration. If you believe your data has been handled incorrectly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We would prefer to resolve concerns directly and invite you to contact us first.

We read every piece of feedback. The Enkian framework exists because someone listened to what a particular kind of mind was trying to say. We intend to keep listening.

This is a living document. It will grow as Enkian grows, as our community teaches us what we've missed, and as our research reveals what we haven't yet understood. The principles behind it — that you are more than your coordinates, that your data is yours, that honesty is stronger than certainty — these will not change.
